how it all got started

When I was 18, I had all these grand plans for what my life was going to be like when I was 26. I will have married my high school boyfriend after college, started my first job, and have my first baby by the time I was 28. This was my plan, but then my high school boyfriend and I broke up. I went to college, fell in love with another guy, moved out west, and he broke my heart. So, here I am, 26, three months into my first job, and wondering if this is really what I wanted.

I know that there are millions of blogs out there about the state of the economy, the president, global conflict, environmental issues....this is not that blog. This is a blog about three 20-something girls, obsessing about jobs, guys, love, the future, and whether or not stripping is the only option.

Back in college, my friend A and I used to talk about becoming classy strippers in the library over studying physical chemistry. We had a whole plan. Now, you may wonder what a classy stripper is. In our minds, we wouldn't whore ourselves out, it will be a nice, clean establishment. Our costume would consist of lab coats and googles, perhaps some beakers or flasks for added effect, and the song choice would vary with the routine. We weren't messing around. We would start in New Orleans, because we figured it was a little classier than Atlantic City, and we ain't no trashy hoes. We knew we'd have to get some street cred before working our way to the big time in Las Vegas. The only thing standing in our way were our rack size. We started a "Fund the Jugs" at a party, and made 16cents, not a stellar contribution, but a start. It was going to turn into website, but then we both graduated and continued on with our respective science careers. Thus far, we haven't had to resort to this avenue, but with the economy the way it is, well, you never know. That's why I practice dance routines in the comfort of my living room daily, just so I'm prepared. I'm sure my neighbors have loved having me in the building since they get a free show every night. I'm thinking of putting a comments box down by the mail boxes, just to get some feedback....

LOVE!
